In the course of operating Company of Women, we may collect both personal and business information.

Personal information includes name, address, email address, phone number, birth date and credit card details.

Personal information is collected by us when you choose to provide it to us e.g. when registering for a program, subscribing to our e-bulletin or becoming a member of the organization.

Business contact information such as the name, title, business address, email address or telephone number may also be collected when provided by you.

Your privacy is important to us. Protecting the privacy and confidentiality of personal information has always been a fundamental principle in our business relationships. We want you to know that Company of Women adheres to privacy legislation that governs what information may be collected, how it is used and how it is protected. Personal information may be used by us for the following purposes:

  • To provide you with up-to-date information about Company of Women and its programs and services
  • To acknowledge and celebrate special occasions

We will not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

We will only disclose your personal information to third parties where you have specifically given us your consent to disclose such information for a designated purpose such as

  • networking with other members of the organization
  • payment of program fees by credit card
  • promotion of your business through the directory

We do not make the e-mail or IP addresses of those who access our site available to other organizations.

Our site may contain links to other sites that we think you might be interested in. While we try to link only to sites that share our high standards and respect for privacy, we are not responsible for the content, security, or privacy practices employed by other sites.

 

Security

The security of your personal information is important to us. One person manages our database and is accountable for ensuring the information is up-to-date and accurate and is maintained in a secure manner.

To ensure that members and guests are not solicited or harassed, the participant list that is produced after each networking session, will be emailed to members only. This list will contain the names and phone numbers of participants who have given prior permission for their information to be shared.

 

Records

If you would like access to the personal information we have on file for you, we will ask you to put your request in writing to the address below.

You will be given reasonable access to your personal information to verify or correct information. Every effort will be made to respond to your inquiry within 30 days. There may be circumstances where Company of Women will not provide you with access or may require additional time to meet your request, in which case you will be informed.
