Local Business Woman Makes a "World of Difference"

ON- Company of Women President and Founder Anne Day has won The
International Alliance for Woman, (TIAW), World of Difference Award
2009 for her contributions to the economic empowerment of women. Since 2007, TIAW annually recognizes women world-wide who have made
a significant difference to the advancement of women. Day was one of 57
women awarded in 20 countries around the world for her extraordinary
achievements. Company of Women supports women business owners,
therefore, TIAW recognized her under the 'entrepreneur' category. "I launched Company of Women seven years ago to connect women
business owners with one another," said Day, "I am honored to have won
the TIAW World of Difference Award; it is a humbling experience to
realize that my efforts have touched the lives of so many women." As an entrepreneur herself, Day understands the challenges and needs
of women business owners. She is dedicated to positively impacting the
lives of entrepreneurial women, not just in Canada but globally. Day
recently authored a book, Faces of Opportunity, which shares the
stories of women in developing countries who have achieved success
through micro financing from Opportunity International. All proceeds
from the book provide funding for more loans. Company of Women is one of the fastest growing women's networking
groups in the Greater Toronto Area, with over 420 members and four
