When was the last time?

by: Odette Laurie

When was the last time you thanked a client for choosing you, and not your competition?

When was the last time you told a friend how much it means to you that she trusts you with her secrets?

When was the last time you told this same friend you realize how much of a burden it is for her to listen to all your problems?

When was the last time you gave someone the right of way on the road?

When was the last time you said, “I don’t know,” but stopped yourself and said, “Let me find out for you?”

When was the last time you apologized for keeping someone waiting? Or smiled and said “No problem” when you had to do the waiting?

When was the last time you thanked someone, anyone, for going above and beyond their call of duty?

When was the last time you said thank you to customer support and told them that it wasn’t their fault they couldn’t help you?

When was the last time you paused in your day, took a deep breath, and said (or thought) life is great?

When was the last time you smiled at someone for no reason?

The list is endless. The message is subtle but loud and clear: Don’t take people, time or life for granted.

It can wreak your day. More importantly it wreaks someone else’s day too.
