Janet Roy
Helping People Realize Their Career Goals

Born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan; Janet's plan for her life was first marriage and then to work in the health care industry. She did both for over seven years and realized her original plan was not the most ideal for her life. After living and working in the USA for more than 10 years, she decided to return to Canada with her two small sons. Janet then started out on a new journey and went back to school. She landed a job, and began working her way up from Marketing Specialist to VP of the division within the next seven years.
But the idea of having her own business was always on her mind. “I have always been told by many that I have offered results-oriented advice that was successful to other entrepreneurs. Everyone has told me I should own my own business.”
So when Lou Duggan and his daughter, Stacey Duggan gave Janet the chance to manage their HR Staffing and Consulting business in Guelph, Janet's passion to help people achieve their career goals and clients to create dynamic workplaces, materialized. In 2008, Lou then approached her to present the opportunity to purchase the business. The answer was yes and Premium HR Solutions was born.
Premium HR Solutions delivers inspired hires and astute human resource solutions to solve today's workforce challenges. Led by Janet, the Premium HR Solutions team combines sophisticated technologies with solid experience to meet every client requirement. Beyond recruitment Premium HR Solutions offer human resource solutions planning, strategy, and analysis to keep you competitive ahead of today's and tomorrow's business demands. When asked about what has surprised her as she started out on her own, Janet said the biggest surprise has been a pleasant one as “everyday brings a surprise that helps her recognize how fantastic her team is in solving problems and turning a crisis into a success for their clients.”
The challenge, Janet says is having time to do everything she wants to do but Janet considers herself blessed, “I am blessed so in many ways, it is hard to pick what I am the most grateful for. Recently I was nominated for the 2009 Women of Distinction, in Guelph. What a surprise, what a blessing.” Janet is also blessed in her personal life. She is married with four sons and four fabulous daughter-in-laws with four grandsons.
Janet's advice for women thinking about starting their own company is “take the risk as it is easier to respond to the crisis or correct the mistake. Otherwise, you have no opportunities to celebrate your successes.”
