Firms More Upbeat About Sales, Hiring

In a recent report from the Bank of Canada, it was found that Canadian businesses are more optimistic about their hiring prospects over the next year, although some of that confidence is largely eluding companies in Ontario.

This report, as well as another on business lending, bolster the view that the worst of the recession is likely over. On balance, firms expect to increase the level of employment over the next 12 months.
