Creating an authentic, sustainable brand is more than crafting a clear mission statement, honing a catchy tagline and designing an eye-grabbing logo. Drawing upon real life examples, this presentation does away with the cookie-cutter approach to branding while walking you through the bumpy evolution of The Messy Baker® brand. You’ll leave with practical takeaways, applicable to any industry that will help you grow your brand without compromise.
A self-described failed playwright and recovering journalist, Charmian Christie is also a culinary instructor and cookbook author. Her cookbook, The Messy Baker: More than 75 Recipes from a Real Kitchen (HarperCollins ©2014), was named one of the Top Ten Cookbooks of the year by the Toronto Star, Calgary Herald and Canadian Living. The book’s introductory essay won the Barbara Novak Award for Excellence in Humour/Essay writing. In a sea of cookbooks, her messy brand caught the eye of, Saveur and Publisher’s Weekly. She’s been featured on Steven and Chris, Canada AM, and makes regular appearances on CTV Kitchener. She can also be found giving cooking lessons across the GTA and K-W areas.
